Dave Dobbyn and Che Fu – two of the best!
 
The Vector Wellington Orchestra is proud to present an exciting new pop concert series featuring two of New Zealand’s best – Dave Dobbyn and Che Fu – accompanied by the VWO.
Dave Dobbyn is a national treasure. From his early days with Th’ Dudes and DD Smash to his solo work, Dave has been able to catch the nation’s consciousness in a way that no one else has. In 2001 he won a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ and in 2005 and 2006 he won ‘Songwriter of the Year’ and ‘Best Male Solo Artist’ respectively.
Che Fu moves effortlessly between musical genres from funk to rock to hip hop, evident in his work with Supergroove to his latest solo album ‘Beneath the Radar’. In 2002 he won ‘Top Male Vocalist’, ‘Single of the Year’ and ‘Album of the Year’.
We are very pleased to present the 2008 AMI New Zealand Pop Star Series. It is our way of paying respect to our gifted colleagues in the popular field with great orchestral arrangements that amplify their vision.
