Alick Shaw – Chair
Alick is a longstanding supporter of the orchestra and has served for many years both as a member and Chair of the Wellington Orchestra board.  He now works as a director and Independent Commissioner under the Resource Management Act and is a member of the New Zealand Parole Board.  He is currently a member of the boards of the New Zealand Transport Agency and the Wellington Museums Trust, and chairs the boards of the Carter National Observatory and Auckland-based gourmet food market company Nosh. 

He has served on the boards of a wide range of organisations in the Local Government, Crown, Cultural and voluntary sectors.  Recent governance roles include Deputy Mayor of Wellington City, Deputy Chair of the Arts Council of Creative NZ, Chair of the NZ School of Music (NZSM) and board member of the Alcohol Advisory Council (ALAC) and Wellington Water Management Ltd. (Capacity).  He is also a member of the boards of the Wellington Health and Hospitals Foundation and Arts Wellington. 

Dominic Groom

Dominic is a management consultant and an experienced orchestral musician who can provide knowledge of management disciplines with a practical understanding of the artistic and operational issues of an orchestra. 

As a management consultant he has been involved in business planning for organisations, projects and regulatory initiatives, economic development, as well as policy development and policy implementation for local authorities and central government. He has contributed to governance and strategic reviews of several publicly funded New Zealand organisations.

Dominic has performed as a horn player in ensembles throughout New Zealand and has previously been Principal Horn of the Vector Wellington Orchestra. He was also a Players’ Representative on the Board.  

Saki Hannah

Saki has over 20 years experience in a variety of legal & commercial roles. He has a legal background with experience in various firms and in-house positions in New Zealand and internationally. Most recently he was Company Secretary and Corporate Counsel of NZX, the New Zealand Stock Exchange and has now joined Meridian Energy's legal team. His areas of expertise are around corporate and commercial transactions, business structures and corporate governance and compliance. Saki has been on a various boards as both a director and as company secretary.

Caroline Heath

After graduating from Victoria University of Wellington with a BMus and BA, Caroline joined the University faculty, managing the University orchestra and administering performance courses for a number of years. 
Caroline has held a variety of roles in the Ministries of Health and Transport, specialising in economic, financial and governance advice.  She was selected to counsel two independent government review groups and has advised on major infrastructure investment and development initiatives.  Most recently, she has been working with public sector boards and governing bodies to improve performance.  
Caroline performed with the Vector Wellington Orchestra from 1998 until 2008.  She was a founding member of the Vector Wellington Orchestra Players’ Committee and a previous Player Representative on the Board.

Grant Myhill

Grant has been a percussionist in the Vector Wellington Orchestra since 2000.  He also plays percussion in the Central Band of the Royal NZ Air Force and freelances in orchestras in Wellington and Hawkes Bay and in brass bands around NZ.

Employed with the Ministry of Social Development, Grant is the Ministry’s HRIS Project Manager responsible for the delivery of payroll services to one of NZ’s largest Government organisations.  With 30 years experience in the Ministry, previous roles include, managing Work and Income service centres, Advisor on risk and assurance and private secretary for the Minister.

Dr Stephanie Rolfe

Stephanie is Principal 1st Violin in the Vector Wellington Orchestra. She was a member of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra for 13 years until she moved overseas in 2001, and a member of the New Zealand Chamber Orchestra during that time. Stephanie has also freelanced in orchestras in London and Hawai’i.

In her day job, Stephanie is a Project Manager at Housing New Zealand Corporation. She has previously consulted in policy, communications, and project management roles in Wellington and Honolulu. Stephanie has postgraduate degrees in languages and in International Relations, and has a PhD in Communication and Information Sciences from the University of Hawai'i.

Peter Snow

Peter has spent a lifetime in logistics and transport in a variety of roles within the shipping and ports sector.  Much of his experience was in the area of business development, strategy and business planning, handling multi-million dollar infrastructure projects in different parts of the world.  He has chaired Boards of logistics companies in UK and has held Managing Director positions in port terminals in New Zealand and Pakistan.  More recently, he was the New Zealand National President of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, where he led a number of new initiatives including a scholarship programme for students, a mentoring programme and the complete re-writing of the Institute’s constitution as an incorporated society. Now retired, Peter has spent recent years in the voluntary sector, undertaking the raising of funds and the management of community projects, for which he was honoured with the Queen’s Service Medal in the recent New Year’s Honours list. Peter is active in the welfare of visiting seafarers, is Chairman of the Mission to Seafarers in Wellington and chairs three charitable trusts (all of which are registered with The Charities Commission) connected with seafarers’ welfare.  He is currently leading the development of a seafarers’ centre in Lyttelton.  Peter is Honorary Treasurer of the Seafarers Welfare Board of New Zealand.  Peter holds a Master Mariner’s Certificate and an MBA, majoring in Strategic Finance.  With his wife, Margaret, he currently sponsors the Section Principal of the orchestra.

Landa van den Berg

Landa is a management consultant with over 20 years of local and international business experience, having moved to NZ in 2007. She supports leaders in translating their vision into a strategic direction, providing a solid foundation for change initiatives and organisation development. 
Before moving into consultancy she had 10 years of experience in various human resources roles. She has worked with a wide range of organisations from large multinationals to small not-for-profits. 

Landa has a Dutch law degree and a post graduate degree in Human Resources Management. She is a member of the Institute of Directors. She is passionate about music, playing the piano since early childhood. Currently she is studying with a local piano teacher.
